Children may be referred to Developmental Pediatrics for a variety of developmental concerns. These may include delays in a child's developmental progress, either in a specific area, such as motor skills or language skills, or global delays in all areas of development.
Children may also be referred for the evaluation and treatment of attention problems and hyperactivity, as well as the evaluation and remediation of learning difficulties. Children may also be referred if they are displaying behavioral difficulties.
In addition, our physicians are trained and certified to diagnose and treat children for physical rehabilitation needs, and to prescribe and supervise indicated Physical and Occupational Therapy Services. As children's physical rehabilitation needs can be quite different from those of adults, having these services provided under the direction of someone trained in Pediatrics can be quite important.
