Diagnosing and treating kidney diseases in infants, children and adolescents is the focus of pediatric nephrologists at the Maria Fareri Children's Hospital at Westchester Medical Center. Specialists also work with children facing end-stage kidney disease, who may require dialysis and life-saving kidney transplants. The hospital is a collaborating center in the North American Pediatric Transplant Consortium.
Our service consists of three board certified pediatricians, who have additional training & certification in the subspecialty of nephrology. We collaborate with a large pediatric urology group at the same facility, to provide seamless, comprehensive, medical & surgical care, for infants, children & adolescents with all kidney & urinary tract conditions.
The program includes acute & chronic peritoneal & hemodialysis, as well as kidney transplantation. Our group is active in multi-center clinical research trials & has a dedicated clinical research nurse. A renal dietician & social worker are also part of our team.
