CWPW Provides Top Quality Medical Services to Children in the Woodlawn Section of the Bronx

The Woodlawn section of The Bronx is growing, and so are the number of physicians and medical services available to infants and children at CWPW's Woodlawn medical practice.

The Woodlawn office is under the direction of Riverdale resident and neonatologist Martin Katzenstein, MD, who was recently listed in The New York Times Magazine 's ‘Super Doctors'.

Dr. Katzenstein helped establish the Woodlawn office with CWPW President Leonard Newman, MD.

The Woodlawn office embraces the cultural heritage of the area, notably a large first and second generation Irish population.

The Woodlawn office is located in the Woodlawn Medical Arts Building at 4350 Van Cortlandt Park East, Bronx, NY.

The Woodlawn office casts a wide net in serving patients from the immediate neighborhood, as well as from lower Westchester County, NY. Dr. Katzenstein and his colleagues are cognizant of the medical needs of the community, and the office continuously evolves to accommodate the diverse regional population, by offering high-quality pediatric medicine.

The Woodlawn office has a dedicated group of pediatricians: Yardaena Osband, MD, Yanna Beniyaminov, MD, Amy Ciner, MD, Mazen Maria, MD, Anne Riffle, MD, and Haeyoung Ko Hwang, MD, who are skilled in various medical specialties, including breastfeeding, behavioral issue,s and obesity.

“The Woodlawn office was established because many of our patients were asking where they could conveniently come and see us for treatment,” says Dr. Katzenstein, who is Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at New York Medical College, Director of Pediatrics, and Chief of the Division of Neonatology at Montefiore's North Division.

As a private practice, CWPW's Woodlawn office has grown to encompass a breadth of services under Dr. Katzenstein's direction. Initially offering traditional pediatric care and services, ranging from Pediatric Allergy, Pulmonology, Cardiac Care, Gastroenterology, and Endocrinology, the practice has expanded to provide a wide range of subspecialties that cover a complete spectrum of pediatric and adolescent care, along with the services of five general pediatricians. Today, the Woodlawn office features everything from behavioral medicin,e to pediatric hematology.

Dr. Katzenstein explains that the Woodlawn office will be adding more extensive hematology-oncology services, and will soon integrate other subspecialtie,s such as neurology and pediatric surgery. Adding dermatology services is also being considered for the practice.

“We think there is a need for these services,” Dr. Katzenstein points out. “Rather than local patients having to travel long distances, they will have these subspecialties right here in Woodlawn.”
